Part 18 of 25

Signing in

You do not need an account to read chapter 1 of every course. You do need one for everything else — and making one gives you seven days with all of it open, free, with no card asked for.

The quickest way: your Google account

If you have a Gmail address, you already have a Google account, and you can use it here. You will not be typing a password into Cogito — Google asks you, not us.

The sign-in screen.
The sign-in screen.
  1. Tap Log in in the blue bar at the top.
  2. Tap Continue with Google.
  3. A Google screen appears. If you are already signed in to Google on this device, it will simply show your name — tap it.
  4. If it asks for your email address and password, that is Google asking, on Google’s own page. Type them there as you normally would.
  5. Google asks whether you are happy to let Cogito see your name and email address. Say yes.
  6. You come straight back to Cogito, signed in. That is it.

Or an email address and password

If you would rather not use Google, you can make an account with any email address and a password of your choosing. Same screen, the form underneath the Google button.

How to tell it worked

Look at the blue bar at the top. Where it said Log in it will now show your first name. Tap it any time to reach your account.

Your free week

Signing in starts seven free days automatically. Every chapter of every course opens straight away.

  1. No card is asked for, at any point.
  2. Nothing is charged when the week ends.
  3. To see how many days are left, tap your name and look at the top of the account page.

If you forget your password

On the sign-in screen there is a link to reset it. You will be sent an email with a link to set a new one. If you signed in with Google there is no Cogito password to forget — just use Continue with Google again.

Signing out

Tap your name in the blue bar, then Sign out at the bottom of the account page. Your progress is kept and will be there when you sign back in.
